The boys golf team did something that hasn’t been done in 6 years and that is qualify a player for the state tournament and qualified 3 amazing players this year. Javen Richins took 10th in the region with an 82 stroke average for the 8 tournaments with his best score being a 79 at El Monte Golf Course and an 80 at Sleepy Ridge Golf Course. Trenton Harris and Garren Gooda both tied for 12th in the region with an 83 stroke average. Gooda’s best round was a 79 at El Monte followed by an 80 at Meadowbrook on Wednesday to qualify for state. Harris’ best round was the 80 shot in the round Wednesday at Meadowbrook along with the 81 at Stansbury Park in the opening tournament of the year.
